Marco is a writer and independent consultant since 2022.
Educated in physics, Marco holds a MSc in astronomy and a PhD in aerospace engineering and has published peer-reviewed articles on the restricted three-body problem, solar sails, and other topics in astrodynamics and chaos. He did research in Rome and at Japan's Space Exploration Agency (JAXA).
In 2014 he was one of the first employees of Axelspace Corporation, a Tokyo startup that builds and operates earth-observation satellites. Over his five years there, he designed and built satellite camera components, as well as embedded software, attitude estimation software, data analysis algorithms, and cloud infrastructure for satellite imagery processing. He was Head of the Space Business Intelligence division until he left the company.
In 2019 Marco joined Gojo & Company, Inc., a global microfinance holding company, as one of their first members. There he oversaw the development of software solutions for microfinance companies in South Asia and participated in research on financial inclusion and inclusive UX. He was Co-Head of the innovation department until he left the company.
